Fishing For Fun Near 1st Lake Apartments

Louisiana is called the “Sportsman’s Paradise,” and with good reason. Located along the Gulf Coast, there are plenty of beautiful waterways throughout the state to fish, boat and play water sports in. One of the most robust fishing communities in Louisiana is on the Northshore, which conveniently is where the fabulous new Brewster Commons apartments are!

The Tchefuncte River that feeds into Lake Pontchartrain is a popular natural resource for fishing and boating. The Tchefuncte River is serene and relaxing with a fun local dining and leisure scene surrounding it in Madisonville, right next to Covington where Brewster Commons is located. The Tchefuncte is open to the public and has a healthy population of fish that can be caught, like the Largemouth Bass, Catfish and Striped Bass.

The St. Tammany Parish fishing pier just officially opened in June and is available for public use from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the summer and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the winter. The entry fee is $3 to fish and $1 just to sightsee. This is an exciting new addition to the area that makes fishing that much more accessible, and is a great family-friendly activity that’s free for children under 12. The fishing pier, located in Slidell, is close to and easily accessed from both the Audubon Gates and Brewster Commons apartment communities.

If you love to fish, or just love being by water, then these two Northshore apartment communities are set in the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful nature and wildlife of Louisiana with the comforts of home.’
