Pet Policy

Deposit $300 - $600

1 Pet (less than 20 pounds full grown): $300 deposit of which $100 is non-refundable, plus $15/month pet fee.

2 Pets (Maximum total weight, of both pets combined, 40 pounds full grown): $600 deposit of which $100 is non-refundable, plus $25/month pet fee. Each individual pet may not exceed 20 pounds in weight full grown.

Restricted dog breeds include any dogs which are partial, or full, Pit Bull, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, English Bull Terrier, Chow Chow, Rottweiler, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Doberman, Alaskan Malamutes, Huskies, Presa Canario, Saint Bernard, Great Dane, Akita, German Shepherd or Boxer. 1st Lake reserves the right to restrict any other breed or animal.

Finding the best apartment is an especially personal search. My work required me to relocate many times, so when it comes to apartment hunting I have developed specific/ subjective priorities. When I say that the 1st Lake Breckenridge apartments in Metairie are exceptional, please keep in mind that in addition to the regular "must haves" (w/d, fridge, cleanliness etc.) things most important to me, are light, space, privacy, and responsive, professional management. The Breckenridge easily rates five stars in these specific requirements! Windows are plentiful and allow light even in the downstairs apartments. Many apartments at the Breckenridge have both a front and back door and a balcony or patio (patios have tended grass area along the entire back of the building). Gay, the manager, is an experienced professional who is also an attentive listener, and more than willing to address any questions or concerns that may come up. "Walkability" score should be higher, as one can stroll through the beautiful park to gain access to more restaurants and shops just a short distance away. There are many small but significant details in these apartments that make the difference between just occupying a nice space (which includes these apartments) and living in a real home, which, to me, the 1st Lake Breckenridge apartments certainly are!

For anyone that has to deal with rude neighbors with loud noises or parking where they're not suppose to, please inform the office because those are lease violations. Management will follow through with lease violations, don't allow anyone to make your stay a nightmare. If people keep the pool gate close and also report rude loud neighbors when the pool is open , the summers will be pleasant. If more than one resident report violations, than the violators will be penalized. People that actually follow rules need to work together!!!

Breckenridge is the fourth apartment that I've lived in, and so far, tied with the best. I chose the apartment complex not for absolute perfection, but on account of it being the best balance of a number of factors: value, location, neighborhood, and the apartments themselves. My apartment is old, but well maintained, and the best apartment for the price I found in several full days of searching. Everything works properly, and the few concerns that I had on move-in were quickly and professionally addressed. I picked one of the smallest units; I opted for it for the price, but like it for the floor plan that has lots more closet space than most comparable units I checked out. The in-appartment washer/dryer was another major plus. The apartment complex is about a three minute walk from Lafreniere park, and has a two mile running track, and the neighborhood feels pretty safe. Management just finished a handful of renovations to the buildings and pool, spiffing things up a good bit. Skimming through the reviews, there's a few complaints that are generally true (sewer issues). I'm pretty sure that this is an issue with the city's famous Sewerage and Water board. In any case, no problems since they poured new concrete for parking spaces out front, and I suspect re-did the connection. As another person mentioned, the assistant manager, Gay, has always been very responsive and straightforward.

Ms. Gay, the apartment manager, was so great and very informative from day one. She followed up and kept updating us with the available units till we signed one. The unit was in great shape and very spacious. No problem at all during our stay. I'd definitely recommend this place specially if you want to be within a few steps from lafreniere park! Awesome location and pretty quite too.

This is a wonderful place to call home. I love living here! I have lived here for 2.5years so far and it has been perfect. The location is great as it is close to stores, parks and major roads for transit. The office staff are very helpful and friendly. They provide ample notice when things are happening like pool opening or regular building care. When there is a problem, the staff work to get it addressed immediately. The maintenance team fixes problems within the day and the on-call maintenance is so speedy as well! The landscaping and grounds are always well kept. There is a very nice pool for the complex. It is a friendly neighborhood, too. I love living here because I feel safe and comfortable. This is a great place to make a house/apt a home.
