Food is kind of a big deal in New Orleans. And there are abundant options for romantic restaurants with great ambiance in the city.

Some of the best include Lilette, Café Degas, and La Crepe Nanou. There’s also Café Amelie, Sylvain and The Delachaise.

Budget-Friendly Date Ideas

A nice date doesn’t have to be expensive! There are many great ways to have fun in New Orleans on Valentine’s Day without breaking the bank.

Some ideas for budget-friendly dates in New Orleans include a picnic at City Park or Audubon Park, or taking a ferry ride to Algiers Point. You can also ride the streetcar down St. Charles Avenue with stops along the way, sitting on the Riverwalk with beignets from Café du Monde or a muffaletta from Central Grocery. Plus, a matinee at the historic Prytania Theater is always a good Valentine’s Day date idea! 

Special Events

In addition to dining and budget-friendly activities, certain local businesses are offering special Valentine’s Day festivities.

The New Orleans Museum of Art will host a special guided “Amour Tour” throughout the galleries. And Emeril’s restaurants including Emeril’s, Emeril’s Delmonico and NOLA Restaurant will be offering a special Valentine’s Day menu with courses that are perfect for sharing.
